Wyoming DMV Name Change (Driver's License)

Before you visit the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), Driver License Records, you must update Social Security and then wait 24–48 hours for their systems to sync. Bring the following to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), Driver License Records:

• Certified marriage certificate (or court order/divorce decree showing name change)
• Current Wyoming driver's license or ID card (to surrender)
• Proof that name has already been updated with the Social Security Administration
• Payment for standard renewal fee ($35 for driver's license)
• Proof of Wyoming residency if applying for REAL ID-compliant credential

REAL ID note: Must update name with Social Security Administration BEFORE applying. SSA record must verify the new name and date of birth before WYDOT will issue a revised license/ID. Applicant is re-photographed and must surrender the old card in person.
