How Southwest Airlines says to do it
- By mail: For your Rapid Rewards account, its terms say a name change request must be in writing and can be mailed to the Rapid Rewards address printed there.
- Online: Its terms say you may request a name change by contacting it via Southwest.com or by mail, and that the request must be in writing. The terms do not describe the Southwest.com steps.

- Photocopies of legal documentation, for example your old and new government-issued photo ID, a marriage license or a divorce decree
